After many pieces that suggest at the Spaceship idea I thought, “Let’s just do a spaceship!” so the base is like a piece pf the tarmac with landing zones and stripes. It’s made from one piece of quartersawn red oak, inlaid with poplar for the stripes and “S” for spaceship. The body of the ship follows in the “flame” shape of many of my recent works. This ship is hard maple, Mexican Royal Ebony, and Maple inlays and paduke outrigers. The landing pad is 21” x 21” and the ship is 21” long x 17” wide x 9” tall. The rear end has quite a bit of engine detail, email for pictures. This piece has just returned from the 2014 AAW traveling show “Rising”
