A Bit of History

In College I had a Bell and Howell 35mm SLR. I shot a lot of Slide film for 2 reasons; I like the vivid colors of Kodachrome and I could develop the film very easily myself. ( I was cheap)

Through the ’80s I spent much of my free time Painting landscape watercolors Plein Aire, and doing landscape photography. I was frustrated with  printing large images from the 35mm,  the grain of the film became very apparent if one tried to print big at all. I then bought a Pentax 67, It was an SLR like the Bell and Howell but huge, the film image size was 70 x 60 mm, 4 times the area of the 35mm.  Later I upgraded to a Mamiya RZ and much of my pre-digital work was done with that camera. I had a ridiculously heavy tripod and multiple lenses and gear, all told about 80 lbs.

When digital megapixels got to be enough I switched over to Canon gear and just recently have upgraded to Sony mirrorless tech.

My Photography Focus

Fall is my favorite time of year and we plan many of our vacations or photography jaunts to coincide with peak fall colors in that area.

St.  Louis has the second largest Mardi Gras in the country, many years there are in excess of 250,000 participants.  I found if I went down to the parade site early I could capture great pictures of the people in costumes, before they partied too hardy (if you know what I mean) I’ve included images that just make me smile, even after looking at them many times, I hope they can do the same for you.

Print sizes and how to order

Most of these images are printed in a couple of different sizes, 13 x 19 image size or something similar, and 30-40″  on the longer dimension. More recently I’ve been printing in the popular frameless metal, Let me know what you are interested in, I’ll let you know what I have in stock and how it’s printed. the beauty of photography is I can print any of these any size you want. Pricing would follow this guideline, printing and framing (if included) costs, an image fee, which is under $100 and shipping costs.
